Are 3D Gel and 4D Acrylic number plates 100% UK road legal?
Yes, absolutely. Under British Standard BS AU 145e (the UK law governing number plates since September 2021), 3D gel dome and 4D raised solid acrylic characters are fully legal for MOT, road use, and ANPR cameras provided they use solid black characters on standard reflective backing with valid supplier details.
What documents are required to buy replacement number plates?
Under DVLA regulations for registered number plate suppliers (RNPS), you will need proof of your identity (e.g. Driving Licence, Passport) and proof of entitlement to the registration (e.g. V5C logbook, V778 retention certificate, or V750 certificate). We make uploading these fast and secure at checkout.
Can I choose a short plate for my private registration?
